Hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology and Beijing Municipal People's Government, and co-organized by China Software Industry Association, China Information Industry Trade Association, Beijing Software Industry Productivity Center, and China Information World, the opening ceremony of the "12th China International Software Fair 2008 and the Summit Forum on Software Industry Innovation and Integration" were grandly held at the conference hall of the Beijing Exhibition Hall on June 12, 2008. As the advocates and practicers of the Chinese software industry open source, CE Open and Redflag 2000 were invited to attend this fair. The exhibition booths of these two companies, located at the Hall No. 11 of Beijing Exhibition Hall – the Hall of Beijing, attracted close attention of many insiders and active responses.

Themed by "software aiding the Scientific Olympic Games and innovation promoting the integration of informationization and industrialization", this software fair carried out in earnest the spirit of the "17th CPC National Conference", thoroughly applied the scientific outlook on development, and greatly promoted the integration of informatisation and industrialization. And taking the opportunity of Beijing's hosting the 2008 Olympic and the 30th anniversary of China's reform and opening up, the fair showed achievements of China's software industry development in the past 30 years. Beijing attended the software fair continuously this year, taking the Hall No. 11 of Beijing Exhibition Hall as the Hall of Beijing with an area of 3,750 square meters, which is hosted by the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, co-organized by Beijing Software Industry Productivity Center and Changfeng Open Standards Platform Software Alliance, and themed by "independent innovation forging / creating the capital of China's software - innovative application and joint development". The contents of the exhibition covered various innovative achievements made in Beijing's software industry, and exhibited various aspects of software services in IT application, including research and application of SOA, basic software and information services, means of science and technology upgrading the transformation of the traditional service industry, software professionals, and software export and outsourcing, etc.

As a leading force in Beijing's software industry, Changfeng Open Standards Platform Software Alliance emphatically exhibited the mechanism innovation and achievements in promoting the development of the industry in the software fair. CE Open, one of the major members in Changfeng Open Standards Platform Software Alliance, dedicating itself to providing improved overall solutions in IT application service, and Redflag 2000, forerunner of China-made office software, both attended the Fair. The exhibition booths of these two companies attracted not only many insiders, but also the attention of lots of visitors, many people came forward for consultation or autographs.
